Mrs Newland's Music Video Challenge
Mrs Newland set us a challenge as part of our home learning to create a music video using a song which summed up the pandemic for us. A couple of examples are below. What do you think?
Mrs Newland's Pep Talk Challenge
During the January lockdown, Mrs Newland set us a challenge. In school, Mrs Newland has shared two of the Kid President pep talks with us (the links can be found below). She challenged us to come up with our own pep talks for a pandemic. You can see some of our efforts below. We hope you like them.

Mrs Newland's Challenge
Mrs Newland set us a challenge to show what lock down has meant to us.
Some of the pictures and ideas we shared are shown below and one of our pupils, Ruby in year 3, created a beautiful video showing what lock down has meant for her.
Mrs Newland's Toilet Roll Challenge - 25th May 2020
During lock down Mrs Newland has been setting weekly challenges for us to take part in, in addition to completing our learning.
One of these challenges was to use up left over toilet roll tubes by crafting, drawing, painting or modelling!
Below are some of the things we created.
VE day Celebrations - 8th May 2020
Unfortunately the 75th anniversary of VE day fell during the Coronavirus lock down this year and all the plans staff at school had been making to celebrate had to be cancelled. Instead, Mrs Newland asked us to celebrate at home and share some pictures with her. Here are some of the things we did.
On Wednesday the 10th July our school participated in District Sports at Hedingham. We had many 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. It was St. Margaret's best performance to date. Overall we came 4th. A big "Thank you|" to Ms Smith who worked very hard training the children in the run up to this event. Well done to all the children for their hard work and participation.
Mad Scientist Visit - Science Week 14th March - 18th March
Lest we Forget
Today we had a whole school assembly based on Remembrance Day. We discussed what peace meant to us. People from our local community talked about the war and those that had died from Toppesfield and Gainsford End while fighting in the war. In Toppesfield there are 20 elm trees planted in various locations to remember each person from the community that died and one for their families.
We also made origami doves. Our house captains assisted and instructed their house groups on how to make the doves. Next we made a collage to represent our thoughts and ideas on peace and remembrance. These will be displayed in the church on Sunday the 11th of November for the Remembrance Ceremony.
Following are the photos of our school working together on a very important project.
