At St Margaret’s C of E Primary School, we are committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of our pupils, parents, staff and wider school community. We recognise the importance of handling information responsibly, transparently and securely, and we take our duties under data protection legislation very seriously.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect on 25 May 2018 and provides a clear framework for how organisations collect, store, use and protect personal information. Alongside the Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR strengthens the rights of individuals and places greater responsibilities on organisations, including schools, to ensure that personal data is used lawfully, fairly and appropriately.
