Week 4: 22nd June 2026

Theme: British Values (Rule of Law)

Reading: Micah 6:8; Romans 2:15

Human, the Lord has told you what goodness is.
This is what he wants from you:
Be fair to other people.
    Love kindness and loyalty,
    and humbly obey your God.

15 They show that in their hearts they know what is right and wrong, the same as the law commands, and their consciences agree. Sometimes their thoughts tell them that they have done wrong, and this makes them guilty. And sometimes their thoughts tell them that they have done right, and this makes them not guilty.

Prayer for the week:

God we thank you for the work of the police,

For their dedication to peace and justice.

Thank you that they are willing to do a job that is hard and challenging to keep us safe.

We pray for our legal system,

That it would be founded on your truth and justice.

We pray that people would feel confident to trust the system.

We pray for wisdom for judges and all those who administer justice.

We pray for police and crime commissioners, chief police officers and all our local police.

We pray for wisdom in how they use their resources when things are tough.

We pray for their health, strength, and opportunities to relax.

Be with all those who uphold our laws, be with those who make our laws too - help them to make decisions that are for the good of all in our society as they work to make our country a safe and peaceful place to live.

Amen.
