Welcome to St. Margaret's CofE Primary School
I would like to welcome you to St Margaret’s Church of England Primary School. I am proud to be Head Teacher of this small village school set in the heart of the Essex countryside where the children are at the heart of all we do. Children attend our school from Toppesfield and the surrounding villages including Stambourne, Great Yeldham, Sible Hedingham, Castle Hedingham, Ridgewell and some even come from as far away as Halstead.
The size of our school means we know our children well and offer a caring, fulfilling environment. We have an emphasis on meeting individual needs within a supportive and challenging learning environment; where the children feel valued.
We have a strong emphasis on developing the academic skills of our children but not to the exclusion of their creative, physical, emotional and social skills. Our children are confident, independent learners who take an active role in the life of their school and we aim for them to become fully rounded individuals. We offer a large number of clubs covering a variety of skills as well as piano lessons through Essex music services. All of our children also attend forest school at least four times, for a course of 10 sessions each time, during their time in our school.
We have a highly skilled and dedicated team of staff with a common focus on ensuring the utmost safety and well-being of our children as they develop and learn.
Parents take a full part in helping with their children’s education and are committed to supporting the school. The school is very much part of the local community and it also has an active Governing body which works closely with the school to make this a special place to learn.
Everyone at St Margaret’s plays a key role in making our school special; creating a warm, friendly and family environment which enables our children to enjoy their time with us.
As a school community we are very proud of our school and visitors are always welcome.
