w/c 6th March

Our reading this week is Luke 4: 1-2

Jesus Is Tempted by the Devil

4 Now filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan River. And then the Spirit led him into the desert. There the devil tempted Jesus for 40 days. Jesus ate nothing during this time, and when it was finished, he was very hungry.

Prayer for the week:

Dear God,

Help us to be the best that we can be,

To be wise in the worst of times,

To endure through the struggle,

Amen

In school:

We have continued to think about Lent and temptation. We listened to a short video from The Right Reverend Lynne Cullens, the Bishop of Barking.

Lent reflection

We thought about fasting and going without food and discussed our views.

We thought about what it would mean to give up something or try to change something in our lives this Lent?

We were invited to write down on a piece of paper something we would like to change or an act of kindness that we will attempt to follow this Lent.

Questions to think about at home:

What can you do as an act of kindness? Can an act of kindness be done anonymously? Why might people choose to do it anonymously?

What will you pledge to do?
