w/c 6th November

Our reading this week is 1 John 3: 1-3

We Are God’s Children

3 The Father has loved us so much! This shows how much he loved us: We are called children of God. And we really are his children. But the people in the world don’t understand that we are God’s children, because they have not known him. Dear friends, now we are children of God. We have not yet been shown what we will be in the future. But we know that when Christ comes again, we will be like him. We will see him just as he is. He is pure, and everyone who has this hope in him keeps themselves pure like Christ.

Prayer for the week:

Dear God,

Help us to be the best that we can be,

To be wise in the worst of times,

To endure through the struggle,

Amen

Song for the week: Oh When The Saints

In school:

We have been thinking about All Saints day. Sometimes, saints were very brave and died because they believed in Jesus. Sometimes they were very good Christians.

We also call people who are very kind or helpful saints sometimes.

We tried to name some saints. We thought of St Thomas, St Chloe of Corinth, St Anna and St Hugo. All of these saints share names with children in who school who were given a halo to wear! We also thought of St Margaret of Antioch who are school is named after.

Many people believe that only really special people are saints. However, in the Bible Paul writes that he is going to Jerusalem to help the Saints (Romans 15:25). Paul also says that were are all very precious and special to God. This is the same message as in the reading for this week. Therefore, we can all be considered as Saints.

We have also been thinking about big endurance in our Big Thought worship.

Questions to think about at home:

Who inspires you? What is it about them that you admire?

Challenge: Encourage someone and tell them what good qualities about their character you admire.
